Ninja Turtles, evil fairies, galaxy guardians in free screenings

Weber County Library screenings

Now that the hustle and bustle of the holidays are behind us, the branches of the Weber County Library would like to welcome you to relax and enjoy a free movie.

The upcoming films are:

• “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles” (2014, PG-13) 2 p.m. Jan. 10. Four mutated turtle warriors come out of hiding and tango with a kingpin who threatens the safety of New York City. The brothers named after four Renaissance artists can be seen at the main library, 2464 Jefferson Ave., Ogden.

• “Maleficent” (2014, PG) 2 p.m. Jan. 10. A vindictive fairy puts a curse on an infant princess, and later learns the child is likely the one who can bring peace to their troubled kingdom. Join the villainess and the princess at the North branch, 475 E. 2600 North, Ogden.

• “Planes: Fire & Rescue” (2014, PG) 2 p.m. Jan. 10. Engine problems make life miserable for an air racer who is then trained as a firefighter with a forest fire and rescue unit. The Disney animation will screen at the Ogden Valley branch, 131 S. 7400 East, Huntsville.

• “The Polar Express” (2004, PG) 3 p.m. Jan. 10. Full of uncertainties, a young boy takes an amazing train ride to the North Pole, and learns that good things indeed happen to those who believe. You can hop aboard at the Pleasant Valley branch, 5568 Adams Ave. Parkway, Washington Terrace.

• “Guardians of the Galaxy” (2014, R) 7 p.m. Jan. 14. With the future of the world in jeopardy, a space adventurer steals a precious object and is pursued by determined forces. Check out this action-packed epic at the Pleasant Valley branch.
