OGDEN — Beginning this Sunday at 9 a.m., Sharon Moore, of Elim Lutheran Church, 575 23rd St., in Ogden, will teach a four-week adult education course titled “Hymns of Community.”

According to a news release from the church, the course will take participants on a Biblical exploration of grace through the poetry, music and history of four beloved hymns.

Participants will reflect on their personal history with each hymn, explore its Biblical connections, learn the history and legends associated with it and consider how its message applies to their daily faith journey.

The hymns are ” We Know That Christ is Raised and Dies No More,” “Jesu, Jesu, Fill Us With Your Love,” “The Church’s One Foundation” and “Blest Be the Tie That Binds.”

The course is open to members of the community. Elim has textbooks available for $3, but will provide them free to those who cannot afford the purchase.
