The full Northern Utah calendar of events is on L4, but here are three local events you should check out this week:

1. Ogden Music Festival

Fort Buenaventura, Ogden, May 30-31, all day

From the event website: “The Ogden Music Festival is our signature event that brings together friends and fans of acoustic music from Ogden and beyond, and is the perfect way to start your summer on a high note, whether it’s high, lonesome bluegrass or some hot licks on the fiddle. We couldn’t be more excited for 2026! Working together with the hundreds of artists, vendors, volunteers, sponsors, and logistical teams, it’s our collective dream to promote and celebrate Ogden’s arts, culture, and natural beauty with residents and visitors, alike.”

2. Box Elder Bash Demolition Derby

Box Elder County Fairgrounds, Tremonton, May 30, all day

Head north to for a chance to enjoy more metal-crunching action as daring drivers hammer into each other in demolition-derby mayhem. The event organizer website says: “Get ready for the hardest hitting, loudest, most action packed event of the season. This is an extreme sport the whole family can enjoy. Come cheer on and watch the drivers contend for $20,000+ in prize money and “MADDOG” bragging rights for being the hardest hitting driver in Box Elder County.”

3. Slim Chance & his Psychobilly Playboys

Kenley Amphitheater, Layton, June 7, 7 p.m.

Summer is time for great music at the Kenley Amphitheater and things are getting going on June 7 with a free concert. The amphitheater website describes the band by saying: “Slim Chance & his Psychobilly Playboys are a music group based in Salt Lake City, Utah known for their lively performances and blend of musical styles. Their music incorporates elements of Western Swing, Rockabilly, Southern Rock, and Rock & Roll, which they describe as ‘Western Rock’.”
