1. Ogden Cinco de Mayo Festival
Ogden Amphitheater,May 2, noon-7:30 p.m.
The start of May is a chance to gather in Ogden and celebrate Cinco de Mayo. The festival website says: “Cinco de Mayo, meaning “Fifth of May” in Spanish, commemorates the victory of the Mexican army over French forces at the Battle of Puebla on May 5, 1862. This battle was a pivotal moment in Mexican history, as a small and underprepared Mexican army, led by General Ignacio Zaragoza, defeated a much larger and better-equipped French force. Here in Ogden, we proudly unite to honor this rich cultural tradition, celebrating the resilience, vibrancy, and contributions of the Mexican-American community that continue to inspire and strengthen our city.”
