The full Northern Utah calendar of events is on L4, but here are three local events you should check out this week:
1. Weber County Fair
Golden Spike Event Center, Aug. 5-8, noon to 10 p.m.
August means it is time for all the sights, sounds and fun of the Weber County Fair. The fair website says: “The Weber County Fair is where friends, families, and neighbors come together to celebrate the best of our community. From exciting rodeos and live entertainment to delicious fair food and hands-on exhibits, there’s something for everyone. Whether you’re here for the carnival rides, the agricultural showcases, or the friendly competitions, the fair is a place to make lasting memories and experience the traditions that make Weber County special.”

2. Korn Ferry Tour Utah Championship

The best professional golf in northern Utah takes place at Ogden Golf and Country Club as the Korn Ferry Tour rolls into town. The event page says: “The Utah Championship, presented by Zions Bank & Intermountain Health, is one of the most storied events on the Korn Ferry Tour, the path to the PGA TOUR. Since its debut in 1990, the tournament has crowned a remarkable lineup of champions, including the inaugural winner John Daly, Masters champion Zach Johnson, and Charles Schwab Cup titleholder Steven Alker. The Utah Championship celebrates it’s 35th Anniversary this year.”

3. Waiting for Godot
Good Company Theatre, Aug. 1-16, 7:30 p.m.
Enjoy a summer evening of great theater at the latest show at Good Company Theatre. The theater page says: “Two wandering souls, Vladimir and Estragon, wait by a lonely tree for the mysterious Godot, a stranger who may never arrive. They pass the time with bickering, boots, hats, half-remembered stories, and the occasional visit from a blustering landowner and his rope-bound servant. Hilarious, heartbreaking, and as urgent today as it was in 1953, Beckett’s self-proclaimed tragicomedy asks all of life’s biggest questions and answers exactly none of them.”
