The full Northern Utah calendar of events is on L4, but here are three local events you should check out this week:
1. The Band Perry
Kenley Amphitheater, Layton, Sept. 10, 8 p.m.
Another popular and successful band will be in town for a great show at Kenley Amphitheater when The Band Perry takes the stage. The event website says: “The Band Perry is a GRAMMY®, CMA, and ACM Award-winning duo known for their genre-defying sound and bold artistic reinvention. Since bursting onto the scene with their RIAA DIAMOND-certified smash hit ‘If I Die Young,’ the Band, led by the artistic eye and creative direction of lead singer/songwriter, Kimberly Perry, have captivated audiences worldwide. The band’s 2025 return marks the end of hiatus and the start of the band’s next era with new music on the way.”

Head to Weber State for one of the many beautiful performances as part of the chamber music festival. The festival website says: “Join Weber State University for the 20th Annual Bonneville Chamber Music Festival, a celebration of world-class chamber music featuring internationally acclaimed performers, award-winning artists, and distinguished guest musicians. In remembrance of September 11, Shostakovichiana and Dvooák Quintet bring together the Fry Street Quartet and André Mehmari in a program where intensity, expressive depth, and improvisation create a powerful musical dialogue.”

Celebrate all of our canine friends and companions for the second year in a row in downtown Ogden. The event, which is part of the weekly Farmers Market Ogden, is described on the website by saying: “Get ready for a puppy pawty at Farmers Market Ogden! Dogden, the city’s (second) annual dog festival, will take over the farmers market on Saturday, September 12th, 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. This free tail-wagging event features a dog parade, agility course demonstrations, free swag, and plenty of activities for the whole family. Local vendors will be on hand with treats, toys, and pet products, making it the perfect day to celebrate our furry friends while enjoying the sights, sounds, and flavors of the market.
