OGDEN — A second person has been arrested in connection with the slaying of a teenager earlier this month.
The Ogden City Police Department announced in a press release late Thursday afternoon that a second suspect was arrested in Colorado earlier this month.
“On October 13, 2025, a second juvenile suspect connected to this homicide was taken into custody in Denver, Colorado, by local Colorado law enforcement,” the release said. “The individual has since been transported to Utah and is currently being held in a juvenile detention center pending charges associated with this case. Due to the age of the suspect, no name or identifying information will be released.”
The shooting occurred in the area of 5th Street and Gramercy Avenue on Oct. 7 around 2:45 p.m. According to a police statement on that day, the victim ended up at Ben Lomond High School, where school staff and the school resource officer attempted to treat him, just after school had been let out for the day.
Another suspect was arrested in Ogden on Oct. 11.
The press release notes that no other suspects are outstanding at this time.
“Over the past several weeks, Ogden City Police Department detectives have continued to follow up on leads and information developed throughout the investigation,” the release said. “Coordination between investigators, partner agencies, and members of the community played an important role in locating and safely apprehending the suspects.
“The Ogden City Police Department appreciates the assistance of all partner agencies and the continued cooperation of the Ogden community as investigators worked to bring both suspects into custody.”
The release adds that no further information will be released at this time.
