Susan Lee has overtaken two-term incumbent Lorene Kamalu in the Davis County Commission Seat B race, according to the latest results that were released at 4:12 p.m. Wednesday.

Lee entered Wednesday trailing Kamalu by just 42 votes, but after 5,829 more votes were counted Wednesday, Lee had a 665-vote lead. Lee leads Kamalu 50.77% (21,807 votes) to 49.23% (21,142 votes).

In the Davis County sheriff race, Jon Atkin extended his lead over Aaron Perry. Atkin entered Wednesday leading by 237 votes but now leads by 884 after 5,717 more votes were counted. Atkin leads Perry 51.05% (21,546 votes) to 48.95% (20,662 votes).

According to Davis County Clerk Brian McKenzie, the only ballots left to be added to the overall count are provisional ballots and ballots that need to be cured by voters.

The County Commission Seat B and sheriff races were the most competitive Davis County races by a wide margin.

The only other race that was within single digits between the top two competitors was the Senate District 7 race between Senate President Stuart Adams, Stephanie Hollist and Braden Hess. After Wednesday’s update, Hollist led Adams 43.03% (7,550 votes) to 34.28% (6,014 votes). Hess had 22.69% (3,981 votes).
