A Pleasant View man employed with the Weber County School District has appeared in court on charges of multiple sex offenses, including object rape.

On Friday, Nolin Maurer appeared in Second District Court in Ogden on charges of object rape, a first-degree felony; forcible sexual abuse, a second-degree felony; rape, a first-degree felony; forcible sodomy, a first-degree felony; and three counts of distributing harmful material to a minor, a third-degree felony.

Maurer was arrested on April 28.

Weber School District did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

A preliminary hearing decision is scheduled for Tuesday at 1 p.m. before Judge Matthew J. Hansen in Second District Court in Ogden.

“The investigation began on March 31, 2026, when the juvenile’s father discovered journal entries detailing sexual acts with an adult identified as ‘Nolin’ and found an unauthorized phone in the juvenile’s possession,” the affidavit stated.

The suspect was identified as Maurer, according to the affidavit.

“The juvenile’s journal described incidents of rape, sexual abuse, alcohol consumption, and the receipt of gifts in exchange for sexual favors, with specific references to locations within the residence and a van in a detached garage,” the affidavit stated. “A warrant-authorized forensic review of the seized phone revealed Snapchat and text communications between the juvenile and Nolin Maurer, including requests for and exchanges of explicit images and videos, and discussions of gifts and sex toys. Multimedia evidence depicted sexual acts involving an adult male matching Maurer’s description.”

The accuracy of the journal and the digital evidence was confirmed during interviews by the juvenile, who provided dates and locations of the alleged abuse, according to the affidavit.

“Further corroboration was provided by statements from Nolin Maurer’s adult children and the juvenile’s parents,” the affidavit stated. “A forensic interview at the Children’s Justice Center yielded additional details regarding the context and circumstances of the abuse, Maurer’s manipulative behaviors, and the emotional impact on the juvenile.”

Due to the suspect being employed by the Weber County School District and holding a concealed carry permit, as well as the risk of witness intimidation and tampering because the suspect’s adult child and minor child are aware of the investigation and reside in the home, it was recommended that the suspect be held without bail, according to the affidavit.

The court ordered Maurer to be held without bail.
