Weber County Republican Women will host a public gathering featuring candidates for U.S. Senate on Monday, March 11, 2024, in Ogden.

OGDEN — The people of Ogden will have a chance to get their first look at several U.S. Senate candidates next week.

Jill Koford of the Weber County Republican Women told the Standard-Examiner that the group will be hosting a forum to meet the GOP candidates for the U.S. Senate seat that is being vacated by Sen. Mitt Romney.

The forum, which will include a Q&A session and opportunities for people to talk with the candidates, is set for Monday from noon to 1:30 p.m. at the Weber County Sheriff’s Training Center at 1400 Depot Drive. A light lunch will be served and a donation for lunch is suggested but not necessary. The event is open to the public but seating is limited and it is asked that members of the public RSVP by calling 801-791-4417.

Koford said, as of Monday, the group has commitments from candidates Carolyn Phippin, Brent Hatch, Brad Wilson, Brian Jenkins, Jeremy Friedbaum, Jason Walton, Josh Randall, Chandler Tanner and Trent Staggs. She said Clark White has said he may be in attendance, while John Curtis will not be able to attend due to an engagement in Washington, D.C.
