From 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, anyone can receive a number of preventive screenings that include breast exams, mammograms, pap smears, skin cancer screenings, dental cleanings, blood pressure checks, depression screenings, blood work, colon cancer screenings and immunizations.
The clinic is partnering with the Utah Cancer Control Program, Intermountain Healthcare’s Mobile Mammography and others in the community to provide the free exams, said Jerika Mays, executive director at Seager Clinic.
“Our volunteer medical director, Dr. Marc Johnson, and chief administrative officer, Dr. Chelsea Slade, will review all of the test results and do all patient follow-up,” Mays said. “If results are concerning, the patient will be directed to our free general clinic, mental health clinic, dental clinic or diabetes clinic.”
Screenings will be on a first-come, first-served basis. No appointment is needed. Mays said the clinic will not screen for income, residency or citizenship status.
“Last year, we had 20 people attend,” Mays said. “This year, I would love to see 50 to 75 people take advantage of the free services offered.”
The screenings will take place at the old Seager Clinic location, 2775 Wall Ave. For more information or questions, contact Mays at jerika@seagerclinic.org or call 801-528-2396.
