Officials with the Coconino County Sheriff’s Office and Arizona Department of Public Safety say the men were airlifted out of Paria Canyon early Thursday.

They say one hiker who was experiencing medical problems was flown to Page Hospital and treated for a non-life threatening condition. The other hiker was flown to Lee’s Ferry where he was reunited with the reporting party.

The names, ages and hometowns of the two men aren’t immediately available.

Sheriff’s officials say the hikers were dropped off Tuesday at the Whitehouse Trailhead north of the Utah state line. They intended to hike through Paria Canyon and eventually meet the third member of their group at Lee’s Ferry in Arizona.
