OGDEN — The Miss Rodeo Utah competition began in 1955 with the start of Miss Rodeo America and has been one of the most beloved highlights of the Ogden Pioneer Days Rodeo ever since. 

It takes place during the week of the rodeo, and the winner goes on to compete in Miss Rodeo America.

Ogden Pioneer Days’ history starts with the rodeo in the 1930s

“Miss Rodeo Utah symbolizes the young women of Utah who want to promote the sport of rodeo that stands for family, hard work, values, and commitment,” the Miss Rodeo Utah website says. “She represents Utah at the Miss Rodeo America Pageant. She also travels throughout Utah appearing at rodeos and western-oriented events.”
