Volunteers needed for Open Aircraft Day at Hill AFB
CLEARFIELD — With Open Aircraft Day at the Hill Aerospace Museum just weeks away, scheduled for Sept. 17, museum staff are asking for volunteers to assist. With more than 4,000 visitors having attended the event in previous years, at least 25 volunteers are needed to facilitate setup, teardown, directing traffic and helping guests.
Volunteers will work a 4.5 hour shift with morning and afternoon shifts available. People interested in volunteering can do so by contacting Elisabeth Cropper at elisabeth.cropper.ctr@us.af.mil or (801) 775-3497.
Open Aircraft Day is a part of Top of Utah Museum Week, a collaborative effort among northern Utah museums to encourage interest and raise awareness on the importance of museums in the community.
Top of Utah Museum Week begins Thursday at 5:30 p.m. with Intercontinental Ballistic Missiles history speaker, Colonel Charles Clegg, Director of Sentinel Systems Directorate. Movie night follows on Friday at 5:30 p.m. featuring the 1983 film “War Games.” All events are free and open to the public.
