Letter: Education scholarships put students’ best interests first
The Utah Fits All Scholarships created by our legislators this year are an acknowledgment that not every child fits into the public education model.
Education dollars are for educating children, not funding any one system. A recent letter to the editor shows what House Bill 215 is about. The author paraphrased Senator Ann Millner. “This bill isn’t about teachers or parents. At the end of the day, this bill was about students and making sure that each student in Utah has the right fit for their education.”
I couldn’t agree more with Senator Millner and the author. Education dollars are about helping students find the best education that they can. Sometimes that is in the public school system, and sometimes it is outside of it.
So I just want to say, thank you Utah Legislature for your support and acknowledgement of a parent’s right to choose the best education for their children.
