Colorado police and the FBI have arrested a Clearfield man wanted as a suspect in two Salt Lake County bank robberies and the robbery of a man outside a Clearfield credit union.

Markee Denzel Hagans, 24, was arrested Monday while sitting in a car in a Greenwood Village, Colorado, hotel parking lot, the FBI’s Salt Lake City field office said in a news release.

Hagans is accused of robbing an America First Credit Union branch in South Salt Lake on Aug. 30 and a Chase Bank branch in Salt Lake City on Sept. 27, according to the FBI. On Sept. 9, Hagans allegedly followed a customer out of a Clearfield credit union, pistol-whipped him and robbed him of money he had just withdrawn, the FBI said.

Hagans made an initial appearance Tuesday in U.S. District Court in Denver.

According to 2nd District Court records, Hagans also has been wanted on an arrest warrant in Layton. Hagans repeatedly failed to appear in court to face a class B misdemeanor shoplifting charge from an incident on Nov. 24, 2021, records showed.

Starting at $4.32/week.
