Authorities studying leads in Monday shooting near Layton mall
LAYTON — The Utah Highway Patrol is tracking down leads following a shooting Monday.
According to UHP, one person was shot just after 2 p.m. on northbound Interstate 15 near the Layton Hills Mall in a road rage incident between a motorcycle and a grey passenger vehicle.
Sgt. Cameron Roden, UHP spokesman, told the Standard-Examiner that there isn’t a concrete suspect in the shooting at this time.
“They’re still working some leads right now and looking into the situation,” he said. “We’d still accept any information the public can provide. If anyone has anything, they can contact our dispatch. center.”
The victim — the driver of the grey vehicle — is in stable condition with non-life-threatening injuries, Roden added.
