Prep roundup: Ogden boys soccer routs Grantsville for region win

OGDEN — After an hourlong lightning delay and in a game that ended with snow on the field, Brigham Aardema scored a hat trick to lead Ogden High boys soccer to an 8-0 region win Thursday over Grantsville.

Ty Robinson, Adam Wilson, Boston Rodriguez, Jace Rodriguez and Luis Velasco all scored for Ogden (5-1, 2-0 Region 13).

Taylor Pierce assisted two goals. Aardema, Velasco, Boston Rodriguez, Jace Rodriguez and Harrison Hoskins had one assist. Hunter Paskins kept the shutout.

MORGAN 3, BEN LOMOND 2

OGDEN — Ty Warner scored a brace to lead Morgan to a region win at Ben Lomond.

Sam Edwards opened the scoring for Morgan (6-1, 3-0 Region 13) on an Owen Tolman assist in the sixth minute. Warner netted in the 24th minute on a Cooper Castro assist and scored the game-winner in the 64th minute on an assist from Jett Beckstrom.

Kevin Aguilar scored in the fifth minute to give Ben Lomond (2-4, 1-1) a brief lead. Max Hoaglin equalized for the Scots in the 44th minute.

ST. JOSEPH 13, UTAH MILITARY 0

OGDEN — Gustavo Andrade kept a clean sheet and St. Joseph scored 12 goals in the first half in a mercy-rule victory over Utah Military Academy (0-3, 0-2 2A North).

Luccas Lima tallied a hat trick for St. Joseph (5-0, 2-0). Tomas Paraizo had a goal and three assists. Daniel Fontes and Carlos Garcia each scored a brace and assisted once. Ricky Aparicio added two goals.

FARMINGTON 4, FREMONT 1

PLAIN CITY — Farmington scored three runs in the top of the fifth inning to take a 4-0 lead in a region win at Fremont

Courtney Christiansen batted 2 for 4 with a home run and three RBIs for Farmington (2-2,1-1). Madison Kelker earned the win, allowing two hits and striking out one over five innings. Lexi Crowley, Elle Mortesen and Lisa Rasmussen had the other three Phoenix hits.

Keysha McKean hit a double and Lexie Weston drove in the run for Fremont (3-1, 2-1).
