U.S. midfielder Taylor Booth (22) moves past El Salvador's Bryan Gil (9) during a CONCACAF Nations League match March 27, 2023, in Orlando, Fla.

Two brothers from Eden grabbed the spotlight in international soccer Sunday when Taylor Booth and Zach Booth squared off against each other in Eredivisie, the top professional soccer league in The Netherlands.

The younger Zach scored in the ninth minute to help FC Volendam to a lead but his outmatched side could not contain the older Taylor.

Taylor Booth notched a hat trick, scoring in the 38th, 57th and 84th minutes to lead FC Utrecht to a 4-2 victory.

“To have family in the stadium and a result like that with three goals was definitely special,” said Taylor, as reported in The Athletic. “I knew the pressure was on (me) when Zach scored the opener. Feeling the pressure from him as the younger brother is something you don’t want as the older brother, but I knew I had to respond and show him who the boss was.

“He looked over at me when he scored and gave me a little smirk. When I made it 4-2, I made him a little ‘money’ sign for him to get his credit card ready for an expensive night. We’re going to go big tonight, for sure.”

Taylor Booth played in two games for the United States Men’s National Team in March 2023 during CONCACAF Nations League matches.
