PLAIN CITY — Marli Sanford scored in the 76th minute on an Ashlyn Gwynn corner kick to lift Fremont High girls soccer to its first win of the season, a 2-1 region victory over Davis on Tuesday.

Brooklyn Robinson netted in the 30th minute, assisted by Gwynn, for Fremont (1-6, 1-2 Region 1).

Davis (3-2, 1-1) did not report stats.

BONNEVILLE 5, BOUNTIFUL 1

WASHINGTON TERRACE — Sadie Beardall tallied a hat trick as Bonneville beat Bountiful (5-2, 0-1 Region 5) to open region play.

Summer Diamond netted the other two Bonneville (7-0, 1-0 Region 5) goals. Mia Miconi had two assists. Kayla Campbell and Ashlyn Bardwell each added an assist.

ROY 8, CYPRUS 0

ROY — Lylian Rosenberg kept a clean sheet and Roy scored five goals after halftime in a big region win over Cyprus.

Jaelyn Barba had two goals and two assists for Roy (3-3, 2-0 Region 2). Macy Reed and Eva Reed each tallied one goal and one assist.

Avena Garcia, Essence Burrus, Taylor Delgado and Tatum Connell each netted once and Kambrie Buttars added an assist.

LAYTON 1, CLEARFIELD 0

CLEARFIELD — Savannah Putman and the Layton defense kept Clearfield (3-4, 0-3 Region 1) off the scoreboard in a road win.

Morgan Ostrowski scored a first-half goal for Layton (3-3, 2-0), assisted by Reese Robinson.

DRAPER — Ashlyn Noss had two goals and an assist as Morgan won at Juan Diego.

Brecklee Charlton and Kaydence Wardell each added a goal and an assist for Morgan (5-2). Jayda Jones scored once and Caroline Owen tallied an assist.

SALT LAKE CITY — Clearfield responded from losing a long first set by beating West in four: 28-30 25-22, 25-17, 25-17.

McKenna Steiner hit 11 kills with four aces and six digs for Clearfield (4-5). Madison Yeager had 26 assists with four aces, Eliza Jones picked up 14 digs and Brooklyn Hawks hit eight kills with four aces.

BOUNTIFUL 3, DAVIS 0

BOUNTIFUL — Bountiful swept Davis (6-1) by scores of 25-22, 25-23, 25-12.

Jordyn Harvey tallied 20 kills, one ace and one block for Bountiful (4-0). Evalyn Chism had 30 assists, three blocks and seven digs. Elle Burleson totaled seven kills, six digs and one block. Taylor Harvey added six kills and three blocks.

ST. JOSEPH 3, MAESER PREP 1

OGDEN — St. Joseph beat Maeser Prep 25-17, 25-22, 22-25, 26-24.

Sarah Snell had 13 kills, nine digs and five service aces for St. Joseph (4-3). Hannah Anderson hit five kills and five aces with one block.

Halen Moon had three kills and seven aces, while Katelyn Sumner picked up nine digs with three aces.

MURRAY 3, ROY 2

MURRAY — Roy erased a two-set deficit early at Murray, but fell 15-5 in the fifth set and lost 26-24, 25-18, 19-25, 20-25, 15-5.

Ari Morgan tallied 37 assists for Roy (1-2) and Sierra Jones hit 16 kills.

EAGLE MOUNTAIN — St. Joseph scored nine runs before Rockwell came to bat, but the Marshals scored 14 in the bottom of the first inning and held on for a close win.

Dorian Hays hit 2 for 3 with three RBIs for St. Joseph (0-3). Garret Aust and Gunner Windsor drove in three runs. Gavin Donovan doubled and hit 2 for 3.
