Prep basketball roundup: Weber boys tame West, Syracuse tops Lone Peak; Ben Lomond girls 7-0

PLEASANT VIEW — Hunter Schenck knocked down four 3s and scored 23 points to lead Weber High boys basketball to a 76-53 home win over West on Tuesday night.

Jaxon Shaw scored 13 points for Weber (2-3). Dylan Rylands totaled 12 and Griffyn Doughty added eight.

The Warriors hit 11 3s as a team and scored 47 points in the second half to pull away to victory.

SYRACUSE 75, LONE PEAK 64

HIGHLAND — Syracuse had four players score in double figures and won an important third-quarter advantage 20-10 on the way to a big road win.

Kaden Ericksen led the way in scoring with 17 points for Syracuse (4-1). Brevin Hamblin scored 16 points, Daxton Faddis 12, Carter Semrow 11 and Kane King nine.

SKYRIDGE 68, LAYTON 66

LAYTON — Layton led 45-40 after three quarters but could not hold off the Skyridge comeback.

Mekhi Martin scored a game-high 26 points for Layton (5-2). Elias Parkinson tallied 15 points and KJ Miller added nine points with two 3-pointers.

BEN LOMOND 55, PROV. HALL 28

OGDEN — Ben Lomond outscored Providence Hall 31-7 across the second and third quarters in a home win Tuesday to remain undefeated.

Kyara Tinajero led Ben Lomond (7-0) with 25 points and Jazlynn Tinajero scored 15. Dory Jenson added five points.

CLEARFIELD 54, ROY 45

ROY — Roy led 22-17 at the half, then Clearfield outscored the Royals 23-14 in the third quarter to take control.

Izzy Wyaskett led all scorers with 23 points for Clearfield (5-1). Brooklyn Hawks scored 14 points and Xiyah Yarbrough added six.

Alyea Martinez led Roy (0-6) with 13 points and three 3-pointers. Jerzee Hart scored nine points.

DAVIS 61, CYPRUS 51

MAGNA — Kendra Kitchen scored a game-high 27 points to lead Davis to a win at Cyprus.

Kate Richards added 12 points with two 3-pointers for Davis (5-0). Aryanna Bull scored 10 points.

BOX ELDER 48, LAYTON 41 (OT)

BRIGHAM CITY — Layton outscored Box Elder 14-11 in the fourth quarter to force overtime, then the Bees ran past the Lancers 9-2 in the extra period for a home win.

Ashlyn Wight scored a game-high 14 points with two 3-pointers for Box Elder (4-3). Madison Reeder tallied nine points, Kaydence Barber eight and Sarena Mackley seven.

Charly Stevens led Layton (0-5) with 10 points. Kate Strong tallied nine points and Jovelyn Martinez hit two 3-pointers on her way to eight points.

BEN LOMOND 57, ROCKWELL 27

OGDEN — Ben Lomond held Rockwell scoreless in the first quarter and led 33-9 at the half in a home win Monday.

Kyara Tinajero led Ben Lomond (6-0) with 17 points. Jazlynn Tinajero scored 16 points with two 3-pointers.

WOODS CROSS 59, HILLCREST 16

WOODS CROSS — Woods Cross outscored Hillcrest 33-8 after the break in a big home win.

Georgia Hatton, who did not play in the fourth quarter, led all scorers with 21 points for Woods Cross. Kenna Cowley scored eight while Brielle Gefrom and Avery Poulton each added six points.
