CLEARFIELD — Izzy Wyaskett scored 16 of her game-high 21 points in the second half to lead Clearfield High girls basketball to a 53-34 win against Springville on Tuesday night.

Xiyah Yarbrough scored 13 points for Clearfield (4-0). The Falcons led 26-22 at halftime before shutting down Springville, last year’s 5A state runner-up, in the second half.

WEBER 63, BEAR RIVER 38

OGDEN — Weber led Bear River 33-15 at the half in a win at the Burchell Classic played at Ben Lomond High.

Avery Shupe led Weber (1-1) with 15 points on five 3-pointers. Abby Sayer added 12 points and two treys. Rylee Jugler added seven points and nine rebounds. The Warriors made 14 3-pointers on the night.

Saydee Pebley led Bear River (0-4) with 13 points. Angelie Delgado added eight points.

BONNEVILLE 52, OGDEN 39

OGDEN — Bonneville outscored host Ogden 13-2 in the fourth quarter to break open a close contest in the Burchell Classic.

Sidnee Geerdes scored a game-high 20 points for Bonneville (2-1). Baylee Andreasen added 19 points and one 3-pointer.

Salote Tonga and Ruth Larsen each scored nine points to lead Ogden (1-2). Tamara Jimenez added eight points.

SYRACUSE 73, BOX ELDER 47

SYRACUSE — Syracuse outscored Box Elder 27-15 in the pivotal third quarter in a big home win.

Avery Sanders scored a game-high 25 points with two 3-pointers for Syracuse (5-0). Cortnie Barker tallied 16 points and Maylee Anderson had 14.

Ashlyn Wight led Box Elder (1-2) with 14 points and two 3-pointers. Maddie Thurgood added nine points and Jocelyn Vranes tallied eight points.

DAVIS 48, WOODS CROSS 29

KAYSVILLE — Kate Richards scored a game-high 15 points with three 3-pointers to lead Davis past Woods Cross.

Kendra Kitchen added 13 points for Davis (4-0) and Kate Willard tallied five points.

NORTHRIDGE 53, LAYTON CHRISTIAN 38

OGDEN — Kaylee Hess scored 20 points as Northridge beat Layton Christian in the Burchell Classic at Ben Lomond High. Karlee Mayfield added 11 points for Northridge (1-1).

Asmin Tanhan led Layton Christian (1-4) with 10 points.

SOUTH JORDAN — Lindsey Thurgood scored eight points as Layton fell at Bingham.

Ben Tesch led Bonneville (2-3) with 13 points. Nick Sebahar scored 10 points with 10 rebounds.

BEAR RIVER 42, CLEARFIELD 30

GARLAND — Kyver Jensen led all scorers with 16 points as Bear River downed Clearfield despite not making a 3-pointer.

Bridger Barfuss and Jace Roberts each scored six points for Bear River (4-1).

Mikey Creel, Jaxson Bishop and Chase Mcneill each scored six points for Clearfield (3-1).

PROVO 53, NORTHRIDGE 47 (OT)

LAYTON — Peyton Perkins scored 16 points as Northridge lost in overtime. Bentley Whitear added 10 points for Northridge (0-5) and De’Qoune Kennedy scored nine.

OGDEN — Jonathan Alcaraz had 19 points with two 3-pointers and eight rebounds to lead Ben Lomond to a home win over North Sanpete on Monday.

Jake East added 14 points and six rebounds for Ben Lomond (3-3). Malakai Mack scored 10 points. Hunter Christensen tallied eight points with two treys, four assists and seven steals.
