PLAIN CITY — Fremont High boys basketball outscored Davis 21-7 in the second quarter and clinched the outright Region 1 championship with a 67-45 win on Thursday night. It’s the Silverwolves’ first region title since 2019 and breaks the Darts’ three-year streak of winning the region.

Hunter Hansen led all scorers with 19 points and two 3-pointers for Fremont (15-7, 10-2 Region 1). Boston Hadley added 15 points, shooting 5 of 6 from the field and 4 of 4 from 3-point land. David Calvert scored 13 points.

The Silverwolves shot 59% from the field and 50% from distance, and held the Darts to 38% shooting.

Zach Fisher led Davis (12-11, 6-6) with 10 points. Caleb Taylor and Coleman Atwater each scored nine, with Taylor hitting three 3-pointers.

LAYTON 77, SYRACUSE 64

LAYTON — Crew Harrop led all scorers with 18 points, including 10 of 10 from the free-throw line, to lead Layton past Syracuse and to a second-place Region 1 finish.

KJ Miller hit five 3-pointers on the way to 17 points for Layton (16-7, 9-3 Region 1). Mekhi Martin scored 15 points with two treys.

Carter Semrow paced Syracuse (14-7, 7-5) with 16 points and four 3-pointers. Terik Hamblin scored 11 points and Brevin Hamblin added 10 points.

SYRACUSE 57, LAYTON 40

LAYTON — Syracuse used a 22-7 second quarter to take a 38-17 halftime lead in a region win at Layton.

Avery Sanders led Syracuse (14-8, 8-4 Region 1) with 16 points and two 3-pointers. Cortnie Barker added 15 points and Rochelle Afo Manuma scored seven.

Olivia Hodapp led all scorers with 17 points and five 3-pointes for Layton (4-16, 3-9). Andalynn Lilly scored six points.

FARMINGTON 62, CLEARFIELD 20

FARMINGTON — Farmington outscored Clearfield 19-0 in the second quarter and led 36-4 at the half in a region win.

Victoria Clinger led all scorers with 14 points and three 3-pointers for Farmington (11-10 5-7 Region 1). Courtney Christiansen and Marissa Marchant each scored eight points.

Izzy Wyaskett paced Clearfield (8-13, 2-10) with eight points. Gretchen Higley tallied four points, all from the free-throw line.

BOUNTIFUL 56, NORTHRIDGE 33

BOUNTIFUL — Bountiful finished a perfect region slate with a big win over Northridge for its second straight region championship.

Taylor Harvey led Bountiful (19-1, 10-0 Region 5) with 13 points, Jordyn Harvey scored 12 points and Milika Satuala added 11. The Redhawks outscored Northridge 27-11 in the second half.

Kaylee Hess led Northridge (12-9, 6-4) with 10 points and Izzy Kap scored five.

VIEWMONT 72, BOX ELDER 67 (OT)

BRIGHAM CITY — A quartet of Vikings scored in double figures, led by Emma Mulitalo’s 18 points, as Viewmont won in overtime at Box Elder.

Sophie Gold and Aubrey Mulitalo each scored 12 points and combined for three 3-pointers for Viewmont (12-11, 6-4 Region 5). Kristina Gunnell added 11 points.

Madison Reeder paced Box Elder (8-14, 2-8) with 16 points. Sarena Mackley tallied 13 points and Ashlyn Wight added 12 points with two 3-pointers.
