Prep roundup: Ben Lomond softball claims 2 wins in St. George; Box Elder baseball wins 2

ST. GEORGE — Ben Lomond High softball beat Cottonwood 17-5 on nine hits in a four-inning win Friday at the St. George Classic.
Dorothy Jenson batted 3 for 3 with three doubles and two RBIs to lead Ben Lomond (2-1). Aleia Huff had two hits and drove in one. Dawnavin Frye hit a double and drew three walks. Kira Romer earned the win with five earned runs and four strikeouts.
Ben Lomond also defeated Kanab 14-10; stats for that game were not available Friday night.
AMERICAN FORK 15, BEN LOMOND 0
ST. GEORGE — Annalese Flores and Reagan Wilcox got the only Ben Lomond hits as the Scots fell to American Fork at the St. George Classic.

CLEARFIELD — Ashton Burnett hit a walk-off single in the bottom of the seventh inning to get Weber (1-2) its first win of the season. Burnett and Dominic Salerno, who scored the winning run, both batted 3 for 4.
Kody Baur pitched 5 2/3 innings and allowed one run on five hits with eight strikeouts. The game was played at Clearfield High.
BOX ELDER 13, WEBER 6
CLEARFIELD — Box Elder scored 10 runs in the fourth inning to take control. Landen Golman batted 3 for 4 with a homer and a double for Box Elder (3-1-1). KJ Argyle hit 3 for 5 with two doubles and Ryan Griffin had three RBIs with a double.
Griffin struck out six in three innings pitched with one run allowed.
Weber hit four home runs as a team. Ian Carver hit two homers, Dax Rhees and Dominic Salerno each hit one. Salerno batted 3 for 4.
BOX ELDER 5, MOUNTAIN CREST 4
CLEARFIELD — Box Elder scored seven runs in the top of the seventh inning to take the lead in a game at Clearfield High. KJ Argyle and Kelton Reyes both batted 2 for 3 for Box Elder.
Damon Rodriguez pitched 2 2/3 scoreless innings in relief, allowing one hit with two strikeouts.
BONNEVILLE 16, GRANGER 4
WEST VALLEY CITY — Bonneville scored seven runs in the second inning and eight in the third in its first win of the season. Jet Hirschi had a triple and four RBIs for Bonneville (1-4).
Andrew Hansen, Enrique Garcia and Parker Sorensen drove in two runs each. Garcia hit two doubles.
SYRACUSE 12, WOODS CROSS 9 (8)
WOODS CROSS — Syracuse scored five runs in the top of the eighth inning and held off a rally to win its first game of the season. Tatum Martin hit 3 for 4 with two RBIs and Bodee Jensen had a home run and three RBIs for Syracuse (1-4).
The Titans trailed 7-2 going to the top of the sixth. Dom Johnatakis drove in two runs and pitched two scoreless relief innings with three strikeouts.
CLEARFIELD 9, ROY 6
ST. GEORGE — Roy scored five runs in the fourth inning to take a 6-5 lead, then Clearfield responded with two runs in the fifth inning and two in the sixth for the win in a tournament game at Dixie High.
Max Forkman batted 3-for-4 with a double from the leadoff spot for Clearfield (1-1). Porter Benton went 2 for 4 with a double and an RBI. Kaden Coleman and Kohner Robledo each had two hits, with Coleman driving in two. Hudson Meyer, Cody Brockman and Peyton Kotter each hit a double.
Samuel Smith and Peyton Yoder had the only two hits for Roy (0-2). Brandon Brechbill had an RBI on two walks. Smith and Cameron Baty each drove in one.

ST. GEORGE — Leadoff hitter Brandon Brechbill collected the only Roy (0-1) hit in a tournament loss at Dixie.
VIEWMONT 11, CLEARFIELD 6
ST. GEORGE — Jaret Lloyd batted 3 for 3 and scored two runs for Clearfield as the Falcons fell to Viewmont.
Max Folkman went 2 for 3 and drove in three for Clearfield (1-2). Porter Benton added a hit and an RBI.

ST. GEORGE — Easton Wight, Brock Nixon and Carson Graves had the three Farmington (0-1) base hits in a loss to Viewmont in St. George.

ST. GEORGE — On Thursday, Boston Wright batted 2 for 4 with a double and one RBI as Northridge (1-1) lost in St. George. Beau Nelson added a double and an RBI.

OREM — Degan Rigby hit a home run, drew two walks and drove in five runs as Bear River lost to Timpanogos in a game played at Orem High.
Gehrig Marble, Holden Potter and Easton Goodliffe each had three hits and drove in six runs combined for Bear River (2-2). Talon Marble hit two doubles while Ryker Jeppsen and Goodliffe each doubled once.
