Prep basketball roundup: Fremont, Ogden, Bonneville boys all claim wins Friday

PLAIN CITY — Fremont High boys basketball trailed after one quarter but took control with a 20-9 advantage in the second stanza on the way to a 71-63, season-opening win Friday night over Bingham.
Weber State signee Hunter Hansen led all scorers with 28 points and two 3-pointers for Fremont (1-0). Easton Duft added 13 points and Ryker Saunders hit three treys on his way to 11 points.
BONNEVILLE 66, PARK CITY 35
PARK CITY — Bonneville ran out to a 21-3 lead after one quarter in a big win over Park City.
Nick Sebahar poured in 22 points for Bonneville (1-0) and Zac Combe added 10. Hayden Ashbridge hauled in nine rebounds.
OGDEN 67, NORTH SUMMIT 58
OGDEN — Bingham Call totaled 24 points and seven rebounds, and Ogden won the second half 34-27 to claim a season-opening win.
Call shot 7 of 10 from the floor and 10 of 16 from the foul line for Ogden (1-0). Stockton Marriott added 12 points, 12 rebounds, three assists and three steals. Josh Cochran chipped in with 13 points, six rebounds and three steals.
HILLCREST 56, NORTHRIDGE 50
LAYTON — Northridge was outscored 19-6 in the third quarter in a home loss to Hillcrest.
Bentley Whitear led all scorers with 20 points and four 3-pointers for Northridge (0-1). Logan Birt and Cael Lake each scored nine points, with Lake hitting two treys and Birt one.

EAGLE MOUNTAIN — Ben Lomond held Rockwell to eight points in the first half and led 31-14 after three quarters in a season-opening road win Wednesday.
Dory Jenson led Ben Lomond (1-0) with 16 points, nine rebounds, four steals and two blocks. Jazzy Tinajero added 11 points with two 3-pointers, three assists and five steals.

BOUNTIFUL — Bountiful took a season-opening home loss Thursday.
Taylor Harvey led Bountiful (0-1) with 17 points and one 3-pointer. Milika Satuala added 11 points. Maleah Nelson hit a trey for her three points.

LAYTON — Layton Christian was held to 15 first-half points in a season-opening loss Thursday.
Asmin Tanhan led Layton Christian (0-1) with 14 points, eight rebounds and four steals. Jessica McKain tallied 11 points with one 3-pointer and five rebounds. Sofia Saez added eight points, eight rebounds, four assists, one steal and two blocks.
