Prep basketball roundup: Layton boys get past Timpview in double overtime
DRAPER — Layton High boys basketball outscored Timpview 8-0 in the second overtime for a 71-63 win Thursday afternoon at the Corner Canyon Tournament of Champions.
Mekhi Martin led Layton (3-0) with 18 points and three 3-pointers. KJ Miller and Sam Romer each added 13 points, with Miller hitting four treys.
FARMINGTON 60, BONNEVILLE 43
WASHINGTON TERRACE — Paul Beattie scored 27 points with two 3-pointers to lead Farmington a double-digit road win.
Jayden Haskell added 19 points for Farmington (2-0) with three 3s as the Phoenix led by seven points at halftime and by 12 after three quarters.
Ben Tesch led Bonneville (2-2) with 15 points, hitting three 3s, and Zac Combe scored 12.
