Prep roundup: Ogden, Ben Lomond boys soccer net wins; full baseball, softball results

OGDEN — Ogden High boys soccer pitched a 3-0 shutout Friday to hand Morgan (9-2, 6-1 Region 13) its first region loss and keep the Region 13 race alive.

Ben Points scored once and assisted twice for Ogden (8-3, 5-2). Xavier Peregrina got the clean sheet.

BEN LOMOND 7, GRANTSVILLE 1

OGDEN — Kevin Nuci netted a hat trick to lead Ben Lomond to a region win.

Jovanny Sanchez, Jovanni Cervantes, Diego Nolazco and Antony Ortiz each scored once for Ben Lomond (5-6, 5-3 Region 13). George Solis passed two assists.

SYRACUSE 2, LAYTON 1

SYRACUSE — Bennett Thurgood and Boston Cheney each netted for Syracuse in a win over Layton as the Titans rose to No. 1 in the 6A RPI.

Boston Cheney and Wyatt Affleck tallie one assist apiece for Syracuse (6-2, 3-1 Region 1).

Layton (2-4, 1-3) did not report stats.

FREMONT 1, DAVIS 0

PLAIN CITY — Grant Morrison scored on a 35-yard free kick in the second half to lift Fremont over Davis (3-4, 1-3 Region 1).

Tucker Pattillo got the shutout in goal for Fremont (5-3, 3-1).

FARMINGTON 3, WEBER 1

PLEASANT VIEW — Jack Burrup scored one goal and assisted two more in a road region win.

Jake Peterson and Jackson Cheney also scored for Farmington (7-1, 3-1 Region 1).

Weber (4-4, 1-3) scored on a Farmington own goal.

BONNEVILLE def. BOUNTIFUL (PKs)

WASHINGTON TERRACE — Bonneville outshot Bountiful 4-2 in penalty kicks following a 3-3 draw after two extra-time sessions.

Dennin Anderson netted twice for Bonneville (5-2, 5-2 Region 5). Payton Rasley scored once. Luke Wilcoxen tallied two assists.

ROY 3, NORTHRIDGE 2 (2 OT)

ROY — David Rangel scored one minute into the second period of extra time to claim a region win for Roy.

Corben Schuffenhauer and Hunter Patterson also netted for Roy (4-3, 4-3 Region 5).

Chance Terry and Ryton Yates scored to give Northridge (1-6, 1-6) a 2-1 lead at halftime.

LAYTON CHRISTIAN 5, TOOELE 0

TOOELE — Tito Souza kept a clean sheet and Layton Christian led 3-0 at the half.

Bernardo Moreira, Joaquim Diniz, Rafael Furlani, Felipe Rocha and Souza each netted once for Layton Christian (8-0, 4-0 Region 10).

AMERICAN PREP WV 9, UTAH MILITARY 1

MT. PLEASANT — Ian Patino scored on an Adrian Botello assist but Utah Military (2-5, 2-3 Region 16) fell at American Preparatory Academy-West Valley on Thursday.

SYRACUSE — Oaklee Derrickson batted 3 for 3 and scored three runs as Syracuse bested Weber.

Jazmine Prathan hit 1 for 1 with two walks, a sacrifice fly and drove in three for Syracuse (7-4, 2-1 Region 1).

Isabella Bird batted 2 for 3 with two doubles and three RBIs for Weber (6-7, 2-1). Kendall Strasburg went 2 for 4 with a double. Ellie Nielsen had two hits and two RBIs.

BOX ELDER 14, VIEWMONT 0

BRIGHAM CITY — Kennadie Blackmer pitched a complete game, striking out 11 and allowing four hits, as Box Elder blanked Viewmont (5-6, 3-3 Region 5) in five innings.

Justy Prichard hit a two-run home run and Izibel Mason hit a three-run triple for Box Elder (12-3, 4-2). Paige Baker added a two-run triple and drew three walks. Alexis Hales hit a two-run double.

BOUNTIFUL 13, ROY 2

ROY — Izabel Cline batted 2 for 4 and drove in both Roy runs as the Royals fell to Bountiful (14-2, 7-0 Region 13).

Aviee Gomez and Lorelai Sherrod got the other two Roy (1-13, 1-6) hits.

BEN LOMOND 26, ROWLAND HALL 16

OGDEN — Ofa Arreguin batted 2 for 5 with a triple, a double and drove in three as Ben Lomond picked up its first win of the season Thursday.

Aleia Huff batted 2 for 3 with two doubles and three RBIs for Ben Lomond (1-7). Aniyah Gonzalez went 3 for 5 with an RBI. Ivy Gallegos, Araceli Gallegos and Elliot Hauser each hit a double.

FREMONT 16, FARMINGTON 6

FARMINGTON — Brant Koford batted 4 for 4 with three doubles and four RBIs as Fremont completed a series sweep of Farmington.

Anthony Marziale batted 3 for 4 with a home run and drove in four for Fremont (10-3, 3-0 Region 1). Garet Jones went 3 for 4 with two doubles and three RBIs. Kobe Nance earned the win, allowing seven hits in four innings.

James Peterson hit a solo home run for Farmington (2-10, 0-3). Gage Farr went 2 for 3 with a triple. Pickle Monk batted 2 for 3 and drove in three.

WEBER 11, LAYTON 8

LAYTON — Dax Rhees allowed three earned runs on six hits through six innings on the mound and left with an 11-3 lead, then Weber held off a seventh-inning rally to avoid a series sweep and pick up a region win against previous RPI No. 1 Layton.

Rhees doubled, drove in two runs and scored three at the plate for Weber (5-8, 1-2 Region 1). Caden Lindholm hit 3 for 4 with three RBIs, and Tyce Abbott and Gage Clark each totaled three hits.

Fish Manning hit 3 for 4 with two RBIs and, on the mound, gave up one earned run in the final four innings while striking out eight for Layton (9-3, 2-1). Andres Cedeño batted 2 for 4 with three RBIs. The Lancers drew six walks in the final inning to make things interesting.

CLEARFIELD 6, BONNEVILLE 1

CLEARFIELD — Peyton Kotter struck out 10 and allowed one run on four hits in a complete-game victory to lead Clearfield over Bonneville.

In a game where all 14 hits were singles, Hudson Meyer, Jake Ross and Kaden Coleman each had two for Clearfield (5-9, 1-2 Region 5). Taven Swartz drove in two runs.

Bonneville (7-6, 0-3) got singles from Andrew Hansen, Jet Hirschi, Parker Sorensen and Landon Minnoch, with Minnoch driving in a run in the first inning.

BOX ELDER 7, BOUNTIFUL 3

BRIGHAM CITY — Kellen Kohler batted 2 for 3 with a double and an RBI as Box Elder bested Bountiful (4-9, 1-2 Region 5).

Camden Lish batted 2 for 2 and drove in one for Box Elder (5-7, 1-2). Landen Golman hit a solo home run. KJ Argyle pitched six innings, striking out three and allowing six hits.

BEAR RIVER 14, RIDGELINE 7

GARLAND — Bear River rapped 16 hits, including four home runs, and Degan Rigby batted 3 for 3 with two doubles and four RBIs as the Bears doubled up Ridgeline.

Gehrig Marble, Holden Potter, Thomas Summers and Brooks Drollinger all homered for Bear River (13-6, 6-3 Region 13). Marble also doubled and Drollinger drove in three runs.

WOODS CROSS 14, ROY 3

WOODS CROSS — Roy lost touch in a region loss when Woods Cross (7-7, 3-0 Region 5) plated 10 runs in the second inning of a five-inning game.

Cameron Baty batted 2 for 3 with a double and an RBI for Roy (2-11, 1-2). Connor Robinson hit 2 for 2 and drove in a run.

MORGAN 3, BEN LOMOND 1

MORGAN — Morgan downed Ben Lomond 25-13, 20-25, 25-16, 25-10 on Thursday.

Jack Komenda tallied 12 kills, four aces and five digs for Morgan (9-6, 2-0 Region 13). Caleb Stephens added 31 assists, three aces and three digs. Kevin Wangsgard had nine kills and two blocks.

Ben Lomond (3-11, 0-2 Region 13) did not report stats.
