CLEARFIELD — Box Elder High boys basketball led 40-39 after three quarters and held on for a hard-fought, 55-52 region win Wednesday at Clearfield.

Trevor Wilkinson scored a game-high 20 points with five 3-pointers for Box Elder (9-13, 8-5 Region 5). Elijah Kersey tallied 13 points and Max Isaacson added 12.

Chase McNeill led Clearfield (6-16, 3-10) with 14 points. Jaxson Bishop scored 12 points on four 3-pointers. Trace Hansen added 11 points.

BOUNTIFUL 74, ROY 62

ROY — Roy led 48-47 after three quarters but could hold off Bountiful (17-5, 11-2 Region 5) in a region home loss.

Corben Schuffenhauer scored a game-high 24 points on 11-of-15 shooting for Roy (10-12, 5-8). Colby Frokjer added 17 points on 5-of-9 shooting from behind the 3-point arc. Bronson Belnap tallied 12 points, four rebounds, and four steals.

AM LEADERSHIP 77, ST. JOSEPH 49

SPANISH FORK — Gavin Wolf scored 22 points with six 3-pointers but No. 23 St. Joseph fell at No. 10 American Leadership (14-10) in a 2A first-round playoff game.

Gavin Donovan added 17 points and two treys for St. Joseph. Chase Fredberg-Gerlich and Mikey McCrea each scored four points. The Jayhawks end the year with a 2-15 record.
