Prep roundup: Weber High picks up baseball, soccer, volleyball wins

BRIGHAM CITY — Weber High baseball plated 10 runs in the second inning on the way to a 15-7 win Thursday at Box Elder.

Eastyn Barker batted 2 for 3 with a double and four RBIs for Weber (1-2). Aiden Rodarte and Dax Rhees each hit an RBI double. Mason Schmitt drove in two. Gage Clark earned the win with one hit and six strikeouts over 2 2/3 innings.

Landon Golman batted 2 for 4 and drove in two for Box Elder (3-4). Damon Rodreguez added two hits and Maddox Earnest had one RBI.

CLEARFIELD 4, ROY 2

ST. GEORGE — Colt Chambers batted 2 for 3 with a double and two runs scored for Clearfield (2-1) to beat Roy at the Dixie Invitational.

Logan Fenn hit 2 for 3 with an RBI for Clearfield. Hudson Meyer hit a double. Ryan Frei pitched six innings with five hits and six strikeouts for the win.

Cameron Baty and Parker Skidmore each had two hits for Roy (0-3). Bryce Bagby and Cache Summers each drove in one.

DAVIS 11, WOODS CROSS 4

KAYSVILLE — Davis jumped to an 8-2 lead after three innings in a win over Woods Cross.

Owen Talbot batted 3 for 3 with a double and an RBI for Davis (1-0). Jaxon Marble batted 2 for 3 while Max Hunter and Gavin Jacks each doubled.

LAYTON 10, BINGHAM 8

LAYTON — Eli Anderson batted 3 for 4 with an RBI and two runs scored as Layton beat Bingham.

Emilio Cedeno hit a three-run double for Layton (2-0). Isaac Anderson added two hits and two RBIs and Talon Hansen hit a double. Fish Manning struck out three and gave up three hits in 2 2/3 innings for the win.

NORTHRIDGE 10, GRANGER 2

LAYTON — Kam Shirreffs hit a three-run home run to lead Northridge past Granger.

Jon Olsen batted 2 for 3 with a double and an RBI for Northridge (5-1). Ryan Small went 2 for 3 and drove in two. Beau Nelson drove in two without a hit. Tytan Redd earned the win with eight strikeouts and five hits over six innings.

BEAR RIVER 12, MORGAN 2

GARLAND — Degan Rigby batted 2 for 4 with a home run and two RBIs for Bear River (3-3) to win at home over Morgan.

Easton Goodliffe and Gehrig Marble each went 2 for 4 and drove in three for the Bears. Marble hit a triple and Goodliffe two doubles. Holden Potter batted 2 for 4 with a triple and three runs scored. Kolton Summers got the win with six strikeouts and three hits over four innings.

Carson Talbot and Benjamin Harden each hit an RBI single for Morgan (3-2). Brigham Spens and Tryker Jones had the other two Trojan hits.

COTTONWOOD 6, BONNEVILLE 1

SALT LAKE CITY — Jet Hirschi hit a single and scored on a Jaygen Noble sacrifice for Bonneville (2-3) in a loss at Cottonwood.

DIXIE 13, ROY 1

ST. GEORGE — Nicholas Brierley batted 2 for 2 for Roy (0-2) and drove in Cameron Baty in the first inning but Roy lost to the hosts at the Dixie Invitational. Kaygen Tingey added two hits.

BEAR RIVER 4, TIMPANOGOS 2

GARLAND — Talon Marble went 2 for 3 with a double and one RBI for Bear River (2-3) in a Wednesday win over Timpanogos. Easton Goodliffe had two hits while Holden Potter and Michael Sanchez each drove in one.

NORTHRIDGE 10, WEBER 7

PLEASANT VIEW — Northridge held off a five-run Weber rally in the sixth inning for a road win Wednesday.

Jon Olsen hit a two-run home run for Northridge (4-1). Boston Wright batted 2 for 5 and drove in one. Bentley Whitear hit a two-run single. Tyler Martin earned the win with six strikeouts over five innings,

Ashton Burnett went 2 for 4 with a home run and two RBIs for Weber (0-2). Tyce Abbott went 3 for 4 with a double. Caden Lindhholm batted 2 for 4 with one RBI.

BOX ELDER 21, ROY 10

ROY — Box Elder scored 10 runs in the top of the sixth inning for a big region win at Roy.

Kellie Malan hit two home runs and drove in four, also earning the win in the circle for Box Elder (7-1, 1-0 Region 5). Kailee Hall hit a home run and a double with four RBIs. Paige Baker batted 3 for 5 with a home run and two RBIs. Stevie Checketts had three hits and drove in two. Lucy Griffin added a double.

Kylee Weitzel and Lorelai Sherrod each batted 3 for 4 with a double for Roy (0-7, 0-1). Sherrod drove in two and Weitzel one. Lauren Ashby went 2 for 4 with a double and an RBI.

FREMONT 7, BEAR RIVER 2

PLAIN CITY — Rylee Andreasen hit a three-run home run for Fremont (1-1) in a win over Bear River.

Savannah Palmatier batted 2 for 4 and drove in one for Fremont. Kamryn Bell hit a double and Kenadee Dabb drove in two. Ayzlee Sessions got the win with one hit and two strikeouts over three innings.

Kaya Towne, Allie Aoki and Paycie Richards each had a hit for Bear River (3-3). Bella Douglas drove in one.

BONNEVILLE 21, WOODS CROSS 2

WOODS CROSS — Bonneville scored 11 runs in the third inning to trigger the run rule in a region win at Woods Cross.

Annie Stevenson batted 2 for 2 with three RBIs and scored four runs for Bonneville (3-0, 1-0 Region 5). Ellee Summers hit an RBI double. Baylee Andreasen drove in two. Chandlyr Noble allowed three hits and struck out three in the three-inning complete game.

PLEASANT VIEW — Conner Gardenhour and Garrett Graves each had a goal and an assist in the first half and Boston Smith kept a clean sheet as Weber (2-0) blanked Herriman on Wednesday.

SALT LAKE CITY — Ronan Ratchford kept a clean sheet with two saves and Jett Beckstrom scored in the 62nd minute to lift Morgan (2-0) to a win Wednesday at Judge Memorial.

UTAH MILITARY 5, WENDOVER 4

WENDOVER — Utah Military Academy-Hill Field scored twice after halftime to turn a 4-3 deficit into a region win at Wendover.

Pedro Flores paced Utah Military (2-2, 1-0 Region 16) with two goals and one assist. Teegan Scharp also scored a brace. Christopher Trejo added a goal and an assist. Ian Patino assisted one score.

BOYS VOLLEYBALL

WEBER 3, MTN CREST 0

PLEASANT VIEW — Weber swept Mountain Crest 25-16, 31-29, 25-16.

Tate Vernon had 10 kills and 20 digs for Weber (7-2). Sam Cruz added 18 kills and served three aces. Dray Croston dished out 24 assists.

RIDGELINE 3, MORGAN 0

MILLVILLE — Morgan was swept at Ridgeline 25-21, 25-18, 25-22.

Jack Komenda tallied seven kills and two blocks for Morgan (3-1) and Christian Nunez added seven kills.
