Prep basketball roundup: Weber boys top Box Elder; Layton downs Lone Peak

Thomas Packer led all scorers with 17 points for Weber (4-3). Carson Hill added 15 points with two 3-pointers. Derek Bowden tallied 11 points and Beau Potokar scored 10.
Gunnar Gunderson led Box Elder (4-5) with 15 points and three 3-pointers. Jantzen Vranes tallied 10 points and McKay Deem scored eight.
LAYTON 68, LONE PEAK 66
LAYTON — Layton led 56-45 after three quarters, then held off a furious Lone Peak rally for a home win.
Chase Randall led Layton (6-1) with 19 points and five 3-pointers. Karter Miller scored 18 points with two treys. Jack Godderidge tallied 16 points and Nic Anderson added 11 points.
WEST FIELD 54, JUDGE MEM 45
TAYLOR — Drew Faddis and Daxton Laughter each scored 12 points to lead West Field to a home win.
West Field (4-4) held Judge Memorial’s scoring to three contributors. Jaden Fowers added nine points for the Longhorns.
WASATCH 64, SYRACUSE 62
SYRACUSE — Colton Hoenigman scored 19 points but Syracuse dropped a close game to Wasatch.
Skyler Orton tallied 17 points for Syracuse (5-4) and Carter Robinson added 15 points.

OGDEN — Salote Tonga scored 13 points to lead Ogden to a home win over Carbon.
