Davis streams into Brighton High's Freestone Stadium before a game Thursday, Aug. 14, 2025, in Cottonwood Heights.

FARMINGTON — In a game suspended by lightning Friday night, Davis High football punched in an insurance touchdown in the third quarter after Saturday’s afternoon restart to claim a 21-10 region win over Farmington.

Tradon Bessinger threw two scoring beauties to Bode Sparrow — a 30-yarder to an end zone corner and a 56-yard downfield rope — to give Davis (7-1, 2-0 Region 1) a 14-10 halftime lead.

Halftime happened shortly after the game resumed at 2 p.m. Saturday. Shortly after that, Farmington fumbled away the first play of the third quarter and Jaxton Itaaehau punched in a 1-yard touchdown run for Davis as the final tally.

Farmington (3-5, 0-2) had an upset on its mind before the game was suspended. Drew Love scored an 11-yard touchdown rush in the first quarter and Jaxon Beynon’s 39-yard field goal had the Phoenix up 10-7 in the second quarter.

Bessinger finished 16 of 23 for 255 yards through the air. Sparrow hauled in eight of those completions for 163 yards. Davis recorded nine tackles for loss, three by Johnny Parker.

For Farmington, Love rushed 31 times for 145 yards.
