Ogden soccer stays undefeated in PK shootout
BRIGHAM CITY — Brinklee Hadley threw a one-hitter and West Field High softball broke through against Kennadie Blackmer in the top of the seventh, scoring two runs to take early control of the Region 5 standings and deal Box Elder its first loss of the season with a 2-1 victory on Tuesday.
Hadley allowed one earned run on one hit, striking out four and walking one for West Field (10-4, 5-0 Region 5).
Ayzlee Sessions hit a triple for the Longhorns. Brylee Leatherwood and Kam Bell each hit an RBI single. Kadence Dyson added a single.
In the sixth, Blackmer broke up Hadley’s no-hitter with a double to score Kailee Hall and briefly give Box Elder (14-1, 4-1) a 1-0 lead. Blackmer took the hard-luck loss after striking out 13, walking zero, and allowing one earned run on five hits.
DAVIS 12, SYRACUSE 2
SYRACUSE — Davis led 5-2 after four innings in a region-opening win at Syracuse.
Norah Sunderland batted 2 for 4 with a home run and three RBIs for Davis (10-1, 1-0 Region 1). Adelyn Turpin and Cambell Christensen each had three hits and drove in one. Riley Jaques hit a two-run double and Koryn Mafi added a double. Serena Roth got the win with three hits, two earned runs, three walks and six strikeouts over four innings.
Sophia Knight hit a two-run home run for Syracuse (5-6, 0-1). Paizlee Prathan had two hits and Nineveh Franco hit a single.
CLEARFIELD 16, BONNEVILLE 1
CLEARFIELD — Clearfield scored 10 runs in the second inning in a four-inning win over Bonneville.
Lilly Lara and Abbie Hale each hit home runs for Clearfield (13-2, 5-1 Region 5). Lara hit a two-run shot and Hale hit a three-run dinger. Alexandra Bingham, Addyson Haddock and Brynn Nicholls each had three hits. Hannah Hensley gave up four hits, one earned run and one walk with five strikeouts.
Marley Chournos hit a single and scored a run for Bonneville (1-8, 1-7). Madilyn DeGroot, Ellee Summers and Andie Elmer each had a hit.
CLEARFIELD 12, FARMINGTON 2
FARMINGTON — Clearfield jumped out to a 7-0 lead after two innings in a six-inning, nonregion win Monday at Farmington.
Lyla Leonhardt batted 3 for 4 with a double, three RBIs and three runs scored for Clearfield (12-2). Alexandra Bingham went 2 of 5 with a double and four RBIs. Skylar Davis went 2 for 3 with a triple and an RBI. Addyson Haddock, Brynn Nicholls and Emma Dishongh each had three hits. Hannah Hensley took the win with four hits, two earned runs and five strikeouts.

OGDEN — Morgan scored twice in the second half to force extra time at 2-2 and, in a penalty kick shootout, Ogden keeper Xavier Peregrina made three saves to give his team the win and keep the Tigers undefeated.
Jace Rodriguez had a goal and an assist for Ogden (10-0, 5-0 Region 12). Joseph Hernandez Vazquez netted one goal and Zeke Snow assisted one goal.
Morgan (5-7, 2-3) did not report stats.
FREMONT 3, ROY 1
ROY — After Roy took an early 1-0 lead, Dillon Chapin scored three unanswered goals to keep Fremont unbeaten in region play.
Braxton Denkers and Bo Parke each assisted one goal for Fremont (6-4, 5-0 Region 5)

BONNEVILLE 3, CLEARFIELD 2
CLEARFIELD — Bonneville scored twice in the second half to break a 1-1 halftime tie in a region win at Clearfield.
Ryker Brooks had a goal and two assists for Bonneville (4-6, 2-3 Region 5). Carden Duran and Jace Anderson each netted once. Tony Hansen added one assist.
Josh Abercrombie and Grady Keime each netted for Clearfield (1-7, 0-5).
UTAH MILITARY 9, WENDOVER 1
RIVERDALE — Pedro Flores had two goals and an assist to lead Utah Military Academy-Hill Field to a big win over Wendover on Monday.
Graysen Heiner, Alfonso Romo and Ian Patino each added a hat track for UMA (6-6). Tanner Larsen netted one goal and Teegan Scharp assisted three scores.

Wyatt Penrod batted 3 for 4 with a home run, a double and three RBIs for West Field (9-4, 6-1 Region 5). Tyke Johnson went 2 for 3 with a home run, a double and drove in three. Brady Penland hit a solo home run.
Porter Francom hit a double and scored on a Bosten Steacie RBI for Box Elder (2-9, 1-3).

LAYTON — Layton took the lead for good with three runs in the fourth inning to defeat Weber in a region opener.
Cruz Hinkle batted 2 for 3 and drove in three for Layton (8-4, 1-0 Region 1). Austin Pritchett and Kobe Manning each drove in one. Will Hoffman, Tillman Thomas, Burkon Beus and Zane Morgan each had one hit. Pritchett got the win with one hit, two walks and four strikeouts over 3 2/3 innings of relief.
Sam Gerritsen batted 2 for 4 for Weber (2-10, 0-1). Bridger Lopshire hit a double. Rayce Stone, DJ Snow and Hazen Barker each hit an RBI single.

OGDEN — Ogden gave up three runs in the third inning and three in the sixth in a region loss to Grantsville (13-3, 4-0 Region 12).
