Utah State offers returning Roy quarterback

“Mele brings a wealth of experience, having coached at Hive Volleyball Club and Farmington High School,” the school said via Instagram. “She comes from a family of coaches and is ready to lead our volleyball program to new heights.”
Fiefia replaces Lily Solomon, who led the team to a 9-10 finish last fall despite a breakthrough 19-5 record two seasons ago.
Fiefia steps into the new role with deep experience as a coach and a former multisport standout during her prep career. As a senior, Fiefia tallied 246 total serving aces, 263 digs and 118 kills for the volleyball team at Farmington.
As an assistant, Fiefia helped head coach Erin Glover lead the Phoenix to a 10-20 finish last year.
Utah State offers Roy High quarterback
All-Region 5 quarterback and Roy High junior Rock Speredon received an offer from Utah State last week, according to an X post by Speredon late last week.
Speredon, a multisport athlete and main signal caller in football, led the Royals with 1,391 yards, nine touchdowns and a single interception during last fall’s 3-7 campaign. With one season left, Utah State represents the first offer Speredon’s announced publicly.
The Aggies are currently coached by Bronco Mendenhall, who holds a career 146-95 record in 19 seasons as a head college football coach between BYU, Virginia, New Mexico and Utah State.
Davis hoops alum returning home for ‘last lap’
Former Davis High standout and Kaysville native Rex Sunderland is transferring to Utah Tech with one season of college eligibility remaining in his basketball career.
Sunderland is on his third school since beginning his career at New Hampshire, where the guard appeared in 58 different games before transferring to Stonehill in Easton Massachusetts. In 33 games last season with the Skyhawks, Sunderland averaged 4.7 points, 3.5 rebounds and 3.2 assists.
While at Davis, Sunderland produced 887 career points, 263 rebounds and 228 assists. As a senior, his 3.9 steals per game ranked second in the state for the 2021-22 season.
