OUTLOOK
The Falcons are young again, but Cody Caputo considers this offseason the best he’s ever experienced as a coach. He’s seeing gains in strength, conditioning and other intangibles since first taking on the project in 2024. Clearfield improved to 3-8 last season, and there’s room for some early win opportunities against Cyprus, Kearns and Layton. Brik Barlow (1,269, 11 TDs) returns at quarterback, and two starters, Kai Cunliffe and Kadyn Irish, return up front. Clearfield returns one starting wideout, Bryson Ridge, and has a double-threat rushing attack with juniors Julius Salima and Micah Salazar. The defense returns three starters with Ridge and senior Easton Harmon at DB, and junior Dax Johnson back to lead the linebacker unit. A healthy, deeper Clearfield should challenge much of Region 5 this season and flip some of those one-score losses from a year ago.
