POCATELLO, Idaho — Kadyn Reyes and Judd Howells each rushed for two touchdowns and Box Elder High football held off Highland (Idaho) for a 31-19 win in the Rocky Mountain Rumble held Friday at Idaho State’s ICCU Dome.

A 1-yard Reyes dive and a two-point pass got Box Elder (3-0) an 8-0 lead. With 2:10 left in the first quarter, Tytan Hupp’s 33-yard field goal made the score 11-0. Howells scored on a 2-yard run late in the second quarter and Box Elder led 18-6 at the half.

Highland took a 19-18 lead on a 75-yard pass and a 39-yard TD run in the third quarter. Howells gave Box Elder the lead for good with a 9-yard run early in the final frame, and Reyes put the game out of reach with a 3-yard touchdown run with 50 seconds left in the contest.

MORGAN 35, PARK CITY 0

KAMAS — Owen Gilson passed for four touchdowns and Morgan blanked Park City in a game played at South Summit High School.

Gilson tossed a 7-yard touchdown pass to Owen Belliston to get Morgan (2-1) on the board at the 6:51 mark in the first quarter. Early in the second quarter, Miles Sydenham scored on an 80-yard run. Late in the second, Gilson found Rhett Larsen for a 5-yard score and the Trojans led 21-0 at the half.

Belliston and Gilson connected for a 4-yard touchdown, then Gilson found George Thurston for a 17-yard touchdown toss to cap the scoring with 6:52 left in the third quarter.

BEAR RIVER 49, THUNDER RIDGE-ID 35

POCATELLO, Idaho — Preston Wilkinson threw five touchdown passes to lead Bear River past Thunder Ridge (Idaho) in the Rocky Mountain Rumble Thursday at the ICCU Dome.

Eli Braegger (44 and 17 yards) and Karson Summers (59 and 33 yards) each caught two touchdown passes for Bear River (2-1). Glaiden Behrens added a 63-yard pitch-and-catch touchdown from Wilkinson.

Bennett Allen scored on a 43-yard run to give the Bears the lead for good with 1:54 left in the third quarter. Late in the fourth quarter, Summers picked off the Thunder Ridge quarterback. That interception led to a Rigdon Vonk 5-yard scoring scamper with 1:44 left in the game for the final margin.

Wilkerson threw a sixth touchdown pass, but not for the Bears, when a Thunder Ridge defender tipped a Wilkerson screen pass attempt to himself and rumbled 16 yards for a score to give Thunder Ridge a 21-13 lead in the second quarter.

Wilkerson completed 19 of 21 pass attempts for 345 yards. Allen rushed for 90 yards on three carries. Summers caught eight balls for 156 yards and Braegger added five catches for 77 yards.
