Prep basketball roundup: Box Elder boys survive to beat Clearfield; Fremont girls tally another win
BRIGHAM CITY — Box Elder High boys basketball led 46-31 after three quarters and survived a Clearfield comeback bid for a 52-50 victory when the Falcons missed a 3-pointer at the buzzer on Wednesday night.
Krew Peterson scored a game-high 17 points on five 3-pointers for Box Elder (11-11, 6-5 Region 5), including one key make in the fourth quarter to help the Bees get across the finish line. Gunnar Gunderson and Ryan Jenson each added 10 points, with Gunderson hitting two treys.
Jack Galvan led Clearfield (9-13, 6-5) with 16 points, including seven of his team’s 19 in the fourth quarter. Hayden Parry scored 15 points. Both Parry and Galvan made two 3-pointers.
FREMONT 72, BONNEVILLE 49
WASHINGTON TERRACE — Fremont outscored Bonneville 55-32 over the final three quarters in a road win.
Zach Hancock scored a game-high 24 points for Fremont (8-14, 6-5 Region 5). Easton Hansen tallied 17 points with two 3-pointers. Cam Campbell added 13 points.
Davis Degroot led Bonneville (2-20, 0-11) with 13 points. Bryson Landis added 11 points and Cole Monson hit three 3-pointers for nine points.

WASHINGTON TERRACE — Abby Christensen scored a game-high 30 points to lead Fremont to a region win at Bonneville.
Ellie McArthur scored 12 points for Fremont (20-3, 11-0 Region 5), shooting 8-of-8 from the foul line. Mia Smith hit two 3-pointers on her way to eight points.
Adisyn Stone led Bonneville (10-12, 5-6) with 11 points. Baya Jimenez scored 10 points with two 3-pointers and Ema Eskelson tallied six points.
WEST FIELD 58, ROY 46
ROY — West Field outscored Roy 32-16 after the break for a region road win.
Tahila Munoz led all scorers with 16 points on three 3-pointers, adding seven rebounds, for West Field (11-12, 6-6 Region 5). Kylee Mueller added 15 points and seven boards. Kenzie Bagby scored 14 points.
Jazzi Prieto paced Roy (0-21, 0-11) with 12 points and two 3-pointers. Sunnie Pebley and Lily Solomona each scored nine points. Quincy Hoover led with eight rebounds.
JUDGE MEM 54, BEAR RIVER 47
SALT LAKE CITY — No. 20 Bear River won the third quarter 19-9, but it wasn’t enough in a 4A first-round loss at No. 13 Judge Memorial (17-7).
Ava Driggs led Bear River with 10 points on two 3-pointers and eight rebounds. Olivia Fry and Kanyon Allsup each scored nine points.
The Bears end the season with a 9-15 record.
