Prep roundup: Box Elder, West Field softball pitchers shine in wins

Ayzlee Sessions batted 2 for 4 with a double and two RBIs for West Field (9-4, 4-0 Region 5). Hadley and Rylee Andreason each added two hits. Hadley walked two and struck out one in the circle.
Ashlynn Cottle, Olivia Broadbent and Jocie Johnson each singled for Fremont (5-7, 2-2). Adelaide Johnson held West Field to two earned runs on nine hits.
BOX ELDER 18, NORTHRIDGE 2
LAYTON — Freshman Maycie Moss pitched a complete game one-hitter with two unearned runs and six strikeouts, Box Elder jumped out to a 11-2 lead after two innings, and the Bees claimed a four-inning win at Northridge.
Kailee Hall batted 2 for 2 with a home run, a triple, two RBIs and two runs scored for Box Elder (14-0, 4-0 Region 5). Kennadie Blackmer went 3 for 4 with a home run, a double, two RBIs and four runs scored. Allie Fuller batted 2 for 2 with a two-run homer, Lucy Griffin hit a three-run dinger and Kaila Kaleikini hit a solo shot.
Berklee Larsen had the only hit for Northridge (3-8, 0-5). Gracie Butte and Kaylee Shirreffs each drove in one.
CLEARFIELD 19, ROY 5
ROY — Clearfield scored eight runs in the fifth inning to trigger the run rule in a region win at Roy.
Abbie Hale batted 2 for 4 with a triple, four RBIs and two runs scored for Clearfield (10-2, 3-1 Region 5). Brynn Nicholls batted 2 for 4 with a double and two RBIs. Addyson Haddock and Skyler Davis each went 2 for 4 and combined for four RBIs. Hannah Hensley got the win with four hits, two runs, two walks and six strikeouts over 4 1/3 innings.
Lorelai Sherrod batted 2 for 2 with two runs scored for Roy (4-6, 3-4). Isabel Cline batted 2 for 3. Promise Salazar hit an RBI single.
BOX ELDER 10, VIEWMONT 0
BOUNTIFUL — Lucy Braegger pitched a five-inning one-hitter with eight strikeouts to lead Box Elder to a shutout win Wednesday at Viewmont.
Kennadie Blackmer batted 2 for 2 with a double, two walks, three RBIs and two runs scored for Box Elder. Kailee Hall went 3 for 4 with one RBI and two runs scored. Quincy Lish and Maclee Williard each had two hits and one RBI.
ROY 13, WOODS CROSS 0
ROY — Roy scored eight runs in the fourth inning in a five-inning win over Woods Cross on Wednesday.
Megan Johnson batted 1 for 1 with a walk, four RBIs and three runs scored for Roy (4-6). McKenzie McCary hit an RBI double. Madi Dedman went 2 for 2 and scored twice. Promise Salazar hit a two-run single. Haven Carreola got the win, pitching four innings with three hits, two walks and one strikeout.

Boston Bolos tallied a goal and an assist for Fremont (4-4, 3-0 Region 5). Dillon Chapin and Cam Graves each netted once while Braxton Denkers assisted one score.
Cash Bishop netted for West Field (3-5, 1-2) on a Jackson Roche assist.

ROY — Toa Hunt netted in the second half to lift Roy to a region win over Clearfield.
Asher Hunt scored in the first half for Roy (2-6, 2-3 Region 5).
Kayson Weaver put in a goal for Clearfield (1-6, 0-4).

OGDEN — Harry Hoskins netted twice to lead Ogden to a region win over Logan (3-6, 2-2 Region 12).
Jace Rodriguez had a goal and an assist for Ogden (9-0, 4-0). Eli Robinson and Joseph Hernandez Vazquez each assisted one goal.

PLEASANT VIEW — Wyler Rollins netted on a David Madsen assist to lead Layton to a region win at Weber (6-3, 0-1 Region 1) on Wednesday. Jack Gibbs and Thomas Beckstead shared the clean sheet for Layton (3-1, 1-0)

RIVERDALE — Pedro Flores tallied four goals and two assists to lead Utah Military Academy-Hill Field (4-5) to a win over Utah Military Academy-Camp Williams on Wednesday.
Ian Patino netted twice for Utah Military Academy-Hill Field (4-5). Franco Negrete added one goal.

COVINA, Calif. — Layton scored three runs in the top of the seventh inning to take a 6-3 lead and held off Northview (California) for a win.
Nik Bielaczyc batted 3 for 4 with two doubles and three runs scored for Layton (5-3). Cruz Hinkle went 2 for 3 with a double and Jowell Dasni hit a two-run double. Zane Morgan added two hits.
WEST FIELD 8, ROY 5
TAYLOR — Roy took a 5-3 lead in the third inning, then West Field responded with five unanswered runs for a region win on Wednesday.
Marshal Moon batted 3 for 3 with a triple and three RBIs for West Field (6-4, 4-1 Region 5). Wyatt Penrod hit a solo home run. Kason Taylor went 2 for 3 with a triple. Sam Smith and Bryce Bagby each hit a double. Ricardo Rodriguez earned the win with five hits, one earned run, one walk and six strikeouts in five innings of relief.
Logan Vorwaller batted 3 for 4 with a double and an RBI for Roy (5-6, 2-3). Chase Moran hit a double. Cache Summers and Julian Teran each drove in one.

GARLAND — Bear River took a 7-0 lead after one inning in a five-inning region win over Sky View (2-8, 0-2 Region 11) on Wednesday.
Ethan Higgs batted 2 for 3 with a home run, a double and six RBIs for Bear River (11-1, 2-0). Jackson Barfuss went 3 for 3 with a triple, two doubles and three RBIs. Boston White batted 2 for 3 with a double and drove in one. Broxton Gardner hit an RBI single and got the win with six hits, three earned runs, one walk and six strikeouts in four innings.

ANAHEIM, Calif. — Layton scored three runs in the seventh inning for a comeback win over Galena (Nevada) at Brookhurst Stadium on Wednesday.
Austin Pritchett batted 2 for 2 for Layton. Will Hoffman, Jowell Dasni, Zane Morgan and Andres Cedeno each drove in one on a single. Hudson Rigby got the win with two hits and three strikeouts in 2 1/3 innings of relief.
