(BRIAN WOLFER, Special to the Standard-Examiner)Northern Utah’s four region champions in girls volleyball learned their seedings in the upcoming girls volleyball state tournaments Saturday when the UHSAA released brackets for championship week in Utah’s 6A, 5A, 4A and 3A classifications.
Region 12 champion Morgan (21-5) is the region’s top playoff seed, landing the No. 2 seed in the 3A tournament.
Region 1 champion Syracuse (17-6) is the No. 3 seed in the 6A bracket.
For Region 5’s co-champions, West Field (23-5) earned a No. 5 seed and Fremont (19-8) is No. 8.
The UHSAA trimmed playoff fields in all classifications to 16 teams, meaning several area 5A teams did not make the cut.
