Service was key for Ben Lomond (1-10), with Avenly Murrah serving 18 aces, Maddie Sparks tallying 11 aces and Zureidy Cervantes adding eight aces.

ST. JOSEPH, TABIONA SPLIT TWO

OGDEN — St. Joseph (8-3, 3-1 Region 22) and Tabiona (7-1, 4-1) split a doubleheader on Saturday.

Game 1 scores were 28-26, 25-23, 25-20 in a St. Joseph win. Sophia Fischer led the Jayhawks with 22 kills, two blocks, three digs and one ace. Mya Rogers tallied 11 kills, 12 digs, and six aces. Sophie Yates added 12 digs and one ace. Ally Pilacik posted 32 assists, seven digs and four aces.

Tabiona took Game 2 in five sets (15-25, 25-21, 25-22, 17-25, 15-13). Sophia Fischer added 27 kills, two blocks, two aces and nine digs for St. Joseph. Mya Rogers had 11 kills, 17 digs and four aces. Sophie Yates posted 25 digs and one ace. Ally Pilacik tallied 42 assists, 14 digs and two aces.

ST. JOSEPH 47, UMA-CAMP WILLIAMS 28

OGDEN — St. Joseph rallied from a 21-0 first-quarter deficit and outscored Utah Military-Camp Williams (1-2, 1-2 8-Player) 27-0 after halftime in a region win Monday.

After UMA took a 21-0 lead going into the second quarter, Ryan Castaneda galloped 80 yards for a score for St. Joseph (1-2, 1-2). On the next possession, Keenan Campbell found John Rodriguez for a 10-yard scoring strike to cut the lead to 21-14.

Late in the quarter, Campbell connected with Quinn Vasquez for a 27-yard touchdown and a 28-20 halftime deficit.

In the third quarter, Hunter Roberts took a Campbell pass 65 yards to the end zone. The Jayhawks took the lead for good on a Castaneda 2-yard dive early in the fourth quarter. Castaneda added a 22-yard touchdown run, then Izaiah Hebert capped the scoring with a 38-yard run.

Castaneda rushed 19 times for 199 yards and three scores. Campbell completed 7 of 11 passes for 148 yards, three touchdowns and no interceptions. Izaiah Hebert carried the ball once for his 38-yard score.

John Rodriguez led the Jayhawk defense with eight tackles, four tackles for loss (three sacks) and one interception. Ryker Christenson added six tackles, three tackles for loss (including two sacks).
