Runs, fireworks aplenty for Ogden Raptors in Fourth of July series with Boise

The Raptors entered Sunday night’s game with a 3-2 lead in this week’s series, which began in Ogden but shifted to Boise. At 24-17, Ogden is in fifth place in the 12-team Pioneer Baseball League but, with one week remaining in the first half, Long Beach and Billings are five games up and closing in on the half’s two playoff bids.
After Sunday night’s finish, the Raptors complete the first half on the road with six games against the Glacier Range Riders in Kalispell, Montana.
The second half begins with Ogden at home, hosting Idaho Falls from July 14-19 at Lindquist Field.
OGDEN 16, BOISE 15
Ogden hit three triples and nearly gave up a 16-8 lead but hung on for a Fourth of July win Saturday night in Boise in front of 4,982 fans at Memorial Stadium.
Colson Lawrence and Sebastian Greico each drove in four runs for the Raptors. Boise catcher Jacob Sisto homered twice.
Through Saturday, Lawrence carried a batting average of .426 (third in the league) with 58 RBIs (second in the league).
BOISE 19, OGDEN 16
In a high-scoring affair from the start, Boise plated three runs in the top of the ninth on a Michael O’Hara bases-clearing double to break a tie and claim a win Friday in front of 4,162 fans at Lindquist Field.
The Raptors, sporting American flag-themed uniforms and bats, led 16-14 after seven innings.
Giuseppe Ferraro-Nahr homered and drove in three runs. Carmine Lane and Colson Lawrence also had three RBIs. O’Hara drove in five for Boise.
OGDEN 20, BOISE 8
Nico Saltaformaggio upped his pitching record to a league-best 7-0 with plenty of run support in a Thursday win at Lindquist Field. Saltaformaggio allowed five earned runs on 11 hits, striking out six and walking one in six innings.
Garrett Bevacqua, Carmine Lane and Colson Lawrence each homered for the Raptors. Lane finished 4 for 6 with five RBIs, adding a double.
OGDEN 15, BOISE 12
Ogden totaled seven extra-base hits and Sebastian Greico provided the punctuation, hitting a three-run, walk-off homer in the ninth to lift the Raptors to a win Wednesday at Lindquist Field.
Greico totaled four RBIs. Chase Valentine homered, doubled and drove in three.
