Ogden Raptors manager Evan Parker writes in the dugout on May 29, 2025, at Lindquist Field in Ogden.OGDEN — The hometown kid is moving on.
Evan Parker, the third-year manager of the Ogden Raptors, is stepping down in about one month’s time, the skipper posted to Instagram on Saturday, to take multiple jobs at a Salt Lake City high school.
“I have accomplished dreams of managing my hometown team, winning a championship ring in my hometown, and wearing a Raptors uniform for six seasons,” Parker wrote. “I’m proud of our four playoff berths in that time — this year’s team with a chance to make it five.”
Parker, 33, wrote that he’s accepted the jobs of associate athletic director and head baseball coach at Judge Memorial Catholic High School. Come August, he says, he’ll no longer be manager of the Raptors but will remain as an “assistant to pitching and baseball operations.”
Parker has been with the club since 2021, the first year Ogden and the Pioneer League entered their independent era. After battling through years of injuries and spending one year in Ogden as a bullpen coach, the former Brewers draft pick became the first native of Ogden City to suit up for the hometown Raptors in 2022.
Parker hung it up on his playing days but was Ogden’s pitching coach in 2023 when the Raptors won the Pioneer League championship. Upon the departure of manager Kash Beauchamp, Parker was promoted at age 31 to become the team’s manager.
Entering Sunday, the Raptors are 113-113 (.500) in Parker’s two-plus seasons as skipper after the club won a wild, 18-17 affair on a walk-off hit-by-pitch to beat Great Falls in front of 3,711 fans Saturday night at Lindquist Field. That boosted Ogden to a 20-15 record this season.
This season, Parker became the youngest manager in the 87-year history of the PBL to reach 100 managing wins.
Ogden went 52-43 in 2025, rallying for four straight wins in the final week to claim an at-large berth to the PBL playoffs. The Raptors fell in two games to eventual champion Oakland, losing two playoff classics 4-2 and 1-0 to end last season.
Parker’s post says hitting and bench coach Ed Campaniello will take over as interim manager when the transition occurs.
