Weber State men’s basketball will open the 2026-27 season at Oregon State, documents obtained via a records request show, after two home exhibitions.

Monday, Nov. 2, takes the Wildcats to Corvallis to begin a compelling start to the season. WSU will face a Beavers squad with a new head coach in Justin Joyner, brothers Josiah and Jemai Lake, Idaho transfer Jackson Rasmussen, and former BYU blue-chip 7-footer Xavion Staton, among other players.

WSU is 1-4 all-time against OSU but played the Beavers in 2024 for the first time in 47 years.

The Oregon State game sets up an opening sequence where the Wildcats will play the Beavers, host Utah Valley (Nov. 7) and travel to Utah (Nov. 10) over the first nine days of the season.

Weber State has also added another home game against a Division I opponent. Cal State Northridge (branded CSUN) will visit the Dee Events Center on Nov. 25. Weber State is 13-8 all-time against the Matadors but has lost five straight and hasn’t faced CSUN since they ended their five-year stay in the Big Sky in 2001.

That has the Wildcats currently set for three Division I home games, joining Utah Valley and the previously reported matchup against Washington State.

WSU has also lined up a home game with non-NCAA team Lincoln University (California) on Nov. 20.

The action unofficially starts with a pair of home exhibitions against regional D2 opponents in Westminster (Oct. 24) and Colorado Mesa (Oct. 28).

Under the charge of former Layton Christian head coach Casey Stanley, Westminster will bring Weber State walk-on transfer Brady Smith back to the Dee, along with former Utah prep scoring standout Quentin Meza and other Utahns. Farmington High alum Cole Johnson will make the visit with Colorado Mesa.

Weber State has nine nonconference regular-season games on the books, leaving up to three more openings to complete the schedule while accounting for the 20-game Big Sky slate.

HOME: Washington State, Utah Valley, CSUN, Lincoln-CA

AWAY: BYU, Utah, Utah State, Oregon State, Cal State Fullerton

WSU WOMEN FINALIZE SCHEDULE

Jenteal Jackson’s women’s squad announced its finalized nonconference schedule for the upcoming season.

The Wildcats spend the first two weeks at home with D2 Westminster, Jackson’s former program, visiting on Tuesday, Nov. 3, to start the season. WSU hosts Division I opponents Denver (Nov. 7) and Houston Christian (Nov. 14) before ending the homestand against NAIA school Northern New Mexico (Nov. 16).

Nov. 7, a Saturday, will give a women’s-men’s doubleheader with the Wildcat men set to host Utah Valley on the same day.

WSU then hits the road to Cal State Fullerton (Nov. 19), Colorado State (Nov. 22) and Seattle (Nov. 25) before pausing the nonconference slate for Big Sky home games on Dec. 3 and 5. The Big Sky has yet to announce the league schedule.

The Wildcats continue on the road at Utah State (Dec. 12) and BYU (Dec. 15) before finishing the nonconference schedule at home on Dec. 19, hosting NAIA opponent La Sierra. The conference schedule will then pick back up on Dec. 31.
