Two found dead Sunday following police standoff in Hyrum

HYRUM — Two people were found dead following a standoff with police and an armed suspect in Cache County on Sunday. According to the Cache County Sheriff's Office, deputies responded to a home in Hyrum at around 5 a.m. after dispatch received a call from a man allegedly claiming to have killed his wife. Upon arrival, responding units reportedly were fired upon by the 45-year-old suspect. After taking cover, a deputy called for the office's SWAT team.
