The grandest parade of the year in Weber County arrives Monday, the final day of Ogden Pioneer Days celebrating Ogden’s own unique heritage. The parade runs through the heart of downtown, northbound from 31st Street to 20th Street on Washington Boulevard attracting thousands to see the marching bands, floats, horse-drawn carriages and performances. Rainbow Girls Concert at Ogden Nature Center

The Rainbow Girls are making a stop at the Ogden the Nature Center during a nationwide tour of their latest EP, “Rolling Dumpster Fire” (December 2021). Self- described as “a gang of sweet angels punching you in the heart,” this Americana trio from the Bay Area also has a brand new single to share, “Compassion to the Nth Degree,” released in June. The group of alt-folk singers since 2010 — now consisting of Erin Chapin, Caitlin Gowdey and Venessa May — became part of music history when they headlined the first all-female show at The Fillmore in San Francisco in 2015. They’ve released four full-length albums and have appeared with well-known bands, including The Brothers Comatose, Ani DiFranco and soon, Fruition. This summer concert in Ogden with Rainbow Girls will “find you lounging on a picnic blanket with toes in the grass, sunset in the distance, tapping away to great live music,” says Ogden Nature Center. The show will take place outdoors in the glen behind the center’s Visitor’s Center. — Angelika Brewer

Wednesday, July 27, 7 p.m. (gates at 6), Ogden Nature Center, 966 West 12th Street, $25 adults/$12 children, ogdennaturecenter.org
