Feeling even more stressed than usual this holiday season? Self-care can easily go down to the bottom of that long to-do list. Stay creative, and stay sane, in this beautiful winter world by taking a local art class right here in Ogden.

Here are just a few opportunities for you this winter season:

THE MONARCH

The Monarch is a collaborative environment where artists, creative businesses and makers of all types can connect, inspire and create together in the heart of Ogden’s Nine Rails Creative District. For more classes and workshops, visit themonarchogden.com.

Robbin Daffin of Hope and Evolution Centerpiece Class; Thursday; 7-8 p.m.; $75

Robbin has always had a love for flowers. When she was just 5-years-old, a grumpy fellow Ogdenite neighbor called the cops on her for picking roses from their garden! After that, she stuck to her grandmother’s garden and practiced putting small arrangements together. She opened her own floral shop in Seattle in 2005. She’s happy to be back in Ogden where it all started!

Join Robbin for a holiday centerpiece class you can use to deck your halls on Thursday during the All the Jingle Ladies Ugly Sweater Party! For $75, you can create a beautiful holiday centerpiece that includes a vintage vessel. Contact @hopeandevolution on Instagram or text Robbin at 801-979-2827. Spots are limited and must be prepaid.

Sarah Warner Abagulum; various children’s art classes; prices and dates vary

When Sarah took her first formal art class from local art master Donna Osmond Kearney Bingham, she knew art would play an important role in her life. That watercolor class inspired Sarah and gave her the skill set to pursue her passion for art. She taught elementary education until her love for art led her to pursue a career in creating and teaching art as a career — carrying on Donna’s legacy. And so the Ninth Muse Academy of Art was born and she never looked back.

Entertain the kids while you get some last-minute shopping done at The Art Box or enjoy a nice cup of coffee at WB’s. The Ninth Muse Academy has monthly drawing and painting fine art lessons for children 7-9 years old as well as a winter camp for children 7-16 years old. The art camp continues from Dec. 27-30. Half days and full days available. More information can be found on Facebook at facebook.com/artclubogden.
