OGDEN — The end of another long, hot summer and subsequent arrival of the autumn season will once again be celebrated on Historic 25th Street with an all-day event featuring harvest-themed, family-friendly activities, live music, local artisan vendors, food trucks and more.

The Harvest Moon Celebration, now a two-decade tradition in downtown Ogden, will take place Saturday from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. along the city’s signature thoroughfare. Jessica Anderson, marketing and communications manager for the Ogden Downtown Alliance, told the Standard-Examiner that the celebration should draw another big crowd this weekend.

“Harvest Moon is the largest annual event in Ogden,” Anderson said. “Last year, we saw an average of 30,000 people attending Harvest Moon and we expect an increase this year with the extended hours and layout of the celebration.”

In addition to longer hours, the celebration will incorporate a fall harvest produce market via Farmers Market Ogden, open from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. There will also be a community-hosted kids zone with free pumpkin crafts, activities and games in the Municipal Park until 6 p.m.

Musical performances and other entertainment will occur throughout the day on two stages. The main stage schedule, headlined by Pepper Rose, is as follows:

  • 10 a.m.: Christian Scheller
  • 10:35 a.m.: Cherry Thomas
  • 11:15 a.m.: Ballet Folklorico
  • 12:05 p.m.: Kenai and Christy
  • 1:10 p.m.: Tim Daniels Band
  • 2:50 p.m.: Silence the Critic
  • 3:35 p.m.: Nico Yessman
  • 4:25 p.m.: Nate Cook
  • 5:50 p.m.: Kip Congo
  • 7:30 p.m.: Pepper Rose

Other activities include a rock wall, axe throwing presented by SocialAxe and beer stations featuring craft brews from around the Beehive State.

“Featured local breweries include Roosters, UTOG, Ogden Beer Co., Talisman, Squatters and Wasatch. Roam free with your craft brew in hand as the entire street transforms into a beer garden for the day,” Anderson said.

Anderson also noted that there would be a “1970’s-inspired rec room staged with vintage furniture, giant corn hole and other fun games,” as well as “multiple fun, fall-themed photo backdrops painted live by local artists during the morning.”

The annual NUHOPE Suicide Awareness Walk will also occur alongside the Harvest Moon event. Booths featuring community resources, advocacy groups, a memory wall and bead ceremony will open at 10 a.m. at the Ogden Amphitheater. A brief program will then run from 11 to 11:30 a.m., at which point the walk itself will begin in front of the east entrance to the Harvest Moon Celebration.

“We love the annual tradition of partnering with Weber State University and Intermountain Health to host the NUHOPE walk during Harvest Moon,” Anderson said. “It reminds us all that connection and community are vital resources to support survivors of suicide loss.”
