The average price for a gallon of gasoline has fallen 15.7 cents to $4.31 per gallon in the last week, according to a GasBuddy survey of 160 Ogden stations.

The average price is down 25 cents per gallon from 13 days ago.

“Average gasoline prices declined in virtually every state over the last week as oil prices continued to fall, with crude approaching $90 per barrel and refiners ramping up output following seasonal maintenance,” Patrick De Haan, head of petroleum analysis at GasBuddy, said in a news release. “The combination of lower oil costs and improving refinery runs has kept downward pressure on pump prices, giving motorists a welcome reprieve. However, the future of prices remains murky. With the Strait of Hormuz remaining effectively closed, global oil supplies continue to tighten, and any further deterioration in the situation could send prices sharply higher. For now, motorists may enjoy the savings at the pump, but the risk of a significant reversal has not gone away.”

The cheapest station in Ogden, according to the release, was $3.99 per gallon, while the most expensive station was $4.49 per gallon.

Statewide, the average price for a gallon of gasoline is at $4.35, down 15.4 cents per gallon from last week.

The national average for a gallon of gasoline is down 17.9 cents from last week at $4.09 per gallon.

The national average price of diesel is at $5.299 per gallon, down 13.8 cents from last week.
