Weber County League of Women Voters to host forums beginning next week

Starting next week, the Weber County League of Women Voters is set to host a handful of candidate forums to help give voters a better sense of who they’re voting for. The following forums are planned at this time:
- Weber County Commission — Monday, Sept. 21, at the Weber County Library Main Branch in Ogden at 6:30 p.m.
- Local and State School Boards — Wednesday, Sept. 23, at the Weber County Library Pleasant Valley Branch in Washington Terrace at 6 p.m.
- House Districts 8, 9 and 12 — Monday, Sept. 28, at Weber County Library Main Branch in Ogden at 5:45 p.m.
- House Districts 10, 11 and Senate District 5 — Monday, Sept. 28, at Weber County Library Main Branch in Ogden at 7:15 p.m.
- House Districts 6 and 7 — Thursday, Oct. 1, Weber County Library North Branch in North ogden at 6:30 p.m.
Terri McCulloch, president of the Weber County League of Women Voters, told the Standard-Examiner that voters getting a measure of the candidates that could potentially represent them is more crucial than ever.
“I think people need to be awakened,” she said. “They need to realize that their vote does count. This is a very pivotal election. They need to find what their values are, research the candidates, and find the ones that match with their values and what they believe should be happening in the United States and in Utah.”
