OGDEN — The filing period for candidates has come and gone — the deadline was Friday at 5 p.m. — and the races for the 2022 election cycle are coming into focus.

Republicans easily outnumber other candidates, but Democrats are running in many contests along with a smattering of Libertarians.

Some late-filing candidates may not appear on the Weber County Elections Office online roster of candidates until Monday, but here’s a look at the hopefuls for offices serving Weber County as of late Friday afternoon, starting with federal posts:

U.S. House: Six are running for the seat now held by Blake Moore, a Republican and the incumbent. GOPers William Campbell of Syracuse, Tina Cannon of Morgan, Andrew Badger of Roy and Julie Fullmer of Vineyard are also running as well as Democrat Rick Jones of West Haven.
