Outgoing president Debbie Williams told the Standard-Examiner that the group will be putting together a nominating committee at the meeting as it seeks to establish new leadership.
Williams says that continuing to support the local chapter of the Republican Party will be a top priority for the group in the new year.
“We really support the Weber County Republican Party,” Williams said. “That’s part of our responsibility … to attend their executive board meetings, and we support them in their fundraisers like Lincoln Days. We help with voting and caucus meetings.”
State Rep. Katy Hall, who ran unopposed in her District 11 reelection bid, was originally scheduled to speak at the meeting. Williams said Hall will now likely make an appearance in the spring to report on the legislative session.
With the fireworks of November’s election now in the rearview, the group will turn its attention to legislation and issues affecting Weber County in 2025. To that end, Williams says homelessness in the Ogden area will be discussed at the upcoming meeting.
